cernlib-base software package provides CERNLIB data analysis suite - common files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install cernlib-base
cernlib-base is installed in your system.
Make ensure the cernlib-base package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep cernlib-base *
You will get with cernlib-base package name, version, architecture and description in a table
